授業の目的

Project-based course focused on oral presentations and communicative activities to build confidence in English developing the autonomous learner as a whole.

授業の概要

There are many principles related to this course. An understanding of these principles will be important for your success. First, this class will be learner-centered, in which you are at the heart of instruction. Therefore, you must always be an active participant taking positive action in learning. Grading will be done in the form of alternative assessment, which is self and peer assessment, as well as formative assessment from the teacher during each class. You will also be graded on two oral presentations. There will be many activities for success at any language level. The focus of learning will be on affective learning and individual needs. In other words, we want to increase our confidence, motivation, attitude, while decreasing anxiety towards English. We will accomplish this through collaborative learning. Finally, we will use reflective evaluation to understand our needs and goals. The most important thing to remember is to have fun and to take challenges.

受講者へのメッセージ

"The minute you start talking about what you will do if you lose, you have lost.'' (George Shultz) Try without worrying about failure and you will succeed.

到達目標

1.There are three short-term goals. First, you should always practice to improve your spoken English in class. Do not worry about your level or compare yourself with others. You should only compare yourself with the past week. Second, you will acquire new skills, such as presentation skills, group-work skills, and time-management skills. Third, we want to take control and be active participants in our learning. You also have three long-term goals. The first is to change your attitude toward English. You will never acquire English if you constantly have negative attitudes towards learning it. Second, you will try to understand how to learn from your mistakes and questions. Third, you will develop personally through life-long learning skills, such as problem-thinking and critical thinking. This will be done constantly in the class, and when working on projects and homework outside of class.
